WHAT TO EXPECT
JLR is seeking a dynamic, strategic thinker and an experienced Head of SAP to lead our SAP roadmap initiatives and manage our large SAP landscape . This role is pivotal in driving the strategic direction, implementation, and management of SAP systems across the organisation.
The successful candidate will oversee a large team of SAP Specialists, manage third-party vendors contracts and financials, own all SAP licensing current and future S4 growth, scope new programs including Vendor selection and RFP selection process and ensure the smooth operation of the SAP Business-As-Usual (BAU) estate.
THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage a large team of SAP professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Define and support the growth plans of team members, overseeing their accountability and broadening their skills and experience
- Expand the SAP centre of excellence to be right sized for the future growth of the S4 & BTP Landscape
- Drive the team with achievable objectives linked to the company OKRs
Vision and Strategy
- Have the ability to build a compelling vision for SAP@JLR and clearly articulating and presenting this value driven vision to the key stakeholders including to the SAP team, the business community and the executives
Third-Party Supplier Management:
- Oversee the management of third-party suppliers, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and deliver high-quality services
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure seamless integration and support.
SAP Licensing Management:
- Manage, control and own all SAP licensing, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and optimizing license usage to reduce costs
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to align licenses with actual usage and business needs
- Lead the negotiation of all SAP Licencing including S4 Roadmap
Program Scoping and Implementation:
- Scope and define new SAP programs, ensuring they align with business objectives and deliver value
- Lead the implementation of SAP projects, coordinating activities across multiple technical teams and business areas
Ownership of SAP BAU Estate:
- Take full ownership of the SAP BAU estate, ensuring its stability, performance, and continuous improvement
- Implement best practices for SAP change management and ensure smooth transitions from project to BAU
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Technical Expertise:
- Extensive experience in managing SAP systems, including SAP S/4HANA and other SAP modules
- Strong understanding of SAP licensing models and compliance requirements
Leadership and Management:
- Proven track record of managing large teams of SAP professionals and driving performance through effective leadership
- Experience in managing third-party suppliers and ensuring they deliver high-quality services
Portfolio Management:
- Demonstrated ability to scope, plan, and implement complex SAP programmes
- Strong Portfolio management skills, including the use of both waterfall and agile methodologies
- Demonstrate the ability to create an SAP roadmap for a complex SAP landscape alongside the industrial Operations cycle plans
Analytical and Problem-Solving:
- Excellent analytical skills with a systematic approach to problem-solving
- Ability to understand and rationalize conflicting points of view to reach optimal solutions
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the enterprise
- Ability to lead teams through empowerment and interpersonal skills
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Significant experience in managing a large SAP Landscapes, on premise and cloud (Preferably S4 Hana on Rise)
- Significant experience leading a SAP Centre of Excellence team
- Strong Knowledge of Automobile Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance & HR
- Strong background in Programme and Portfolio Management
