WHAT TO EXPECT
 
This role is responsible for the definition, development and delivery of multiple end-to-end Systems/Features including their operational verification and validation. The features in scope are the Active Safety ones within Jaguar Land Rover, offered to ensure a safer mobility for our customers.

 

It will require holistic thinking and processing and the ability to focus on the bigger picture bridging gaps between disciplines. The focus lies on all Jaguar Land Rover vehicles and the creation of a consistent way of working and solutions between all JLR architectures.

 

The successful candidate will lead and manage a Team of highly skilled engineers, product owners and scrum masters, to deliver Active Safety features (like emergency braking, collision prevention manoeuvre, emergency lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, pre-and post-crash) in time, to quality and to cost.

 

These goals will have to be achieved in successful collaboration with strategic technology partners globally.

 

THE ROLE
 
Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver the collaborative programme with JLR-Technology partners within the JLR framework respecting Quality/Time/Cost indicators
  • Leverage on strong networking and drive across the ADAS Domain and the business to deliver End-to-End Features
  • Liaise and manage partners, suppliers and all relevant JLR stakeholders
  • Create and maintain a program plan for end-to-end Feature delivery considering program milestones and execute accordingly
  • Create and maintain a roadmap for the Features in scope
  • Manage issues and their resolution in specified timeframes using evidence-based processes
  • Ensure identification and solution definition of critical technical cross-functional/cross-group/cross-domain dependencies
  • Control PI planning process by providing technical goals and guidance to multiple squads. Drive the group within the AGILE Framework via capability management, Big-Room-Plannings, QBR, demos and weekly alignments
  • Review and approval of the documentation and associated technical activities related to the development and delivery of the Features in scope
  • Be accountable for sign off of the owned Feature sets for production release
  • Interact with stakeholders from certification/regulation and consumer tests, ensuring inputs are considered into product design and validation. Champion NCAP related topics within AAD
  • Develop cross-site/cross-functional Teams: engage, motivate and support Team members development to increase
  • The position requires world-wide travelling to promote cross-site culture and establish solid working relationship within the JLR engineering community and the Technology partner in Europe/India/China/USA

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

  • Experience leading teams (squads) in an AGILE environment accompanied by significant experience of leading global multi-skilled teams with the ability to set operational and strategic direction
  • Overall significant professional work experience in safety related embedded development with proven track-record of completion of projects
  • Proven ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments
  • Significant experience of delivering safety related embedded products with a focus on end-to-end delivery on Target, including successful product launch and maintenance of the units deployed on field
  • Significant cross-functional experience developing and delivering features in embedded development environment with extended knowledge on all the phases which characterize an end to end V-cycle
  • Significant experience in managing complex dependencies and relationships between technical components with focus on delivering a cost-effective and future proof product/system architecture
  • Experience of engineering product delivery to multiple projects and programmes through NCAP (consumer) and regulatory steps (or equivalent in fields other than automotive) as well as experience with international standards on functional safety like ISO26262 and security (or equivalent in fields other than automotive)
  • Automotive experience will be considered a plus
