WHAT TO EXPECT

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and enthusiastic Product Owner to join our Electronics Group within Product Engineering.

The role of the Product Owner is to maximise the value of the product – in this case the development of electronic modules / ECUs. The successful candidate will create and communicate a clear vision of the strategy for the product and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure their requirements are met.

The purpose of this role is also to provide a depth of technical knowledge, support and strategy for the design, manufacturing and introduction of electronic modules / ECU’s for JLR programmes

As a Product Owner, you’ll be working with a growing squad that is responsible for the delivery of electronic modules at JLR, meeting defined targets and attributes (technical and commercial – on cost, quality and time).

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Hardware Design Processes and methodologies, including Electronic Design (Schematic & PCB), Mechanical Design, validation and industrialisation.
• Lead the delivery of the module targets specifically for quality, cost and time.
• Meet operational targets created in the strategy phase to ensure they can be delivered robustly.
• Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver the test plan, confirm parts availability for all stages and ensure cross-functional requirements are integrated in module development. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Experienced in managing the delivery of complex electronics modules including electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Extensive experience in electronics development environments, processes and tool chains for volume manufacture with an understanding of end-to-end electronics development processes.
• Project management experience in electronics product environment within a complex environment
• Awareness of design practices for EMC, test and manufacturing.
• Familiar with electronic design toolsets (incl. Schematics, PCB)
