Bring your exceptional talents to the Electronics Hardware Domain within Product Engineering at JLR

 

As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will engage in the development of electronic products and collaborate with stakeholders to provide technical capability as part of the team responsible for delivering electronic modules for automotive applications across the JLR product range

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Design and validation of Electrical Modules / ECUs for automotive applications including, component selection, creation of Bill of Design, schematics design, PCB layout, design calculation and simulation.
  • Production of detailed design requirements, documentation and specifications for Electronic Modules / ECUs and support preparation activities for manufacturing readiness, volume production and validation.
  • Support Failure mode effect analysis of an ECU development with the commodity delivery team.
  • Support the development of the Hardware Design Processes and methodologies, including Electronic Design (Schematic & PCB), validation and industrialisation.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team to create and evaluate module concepts, features and alternatives and maintain relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.

 

 

 WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Extensive experience in a similar role as an Electronics Design Engineer with experience of CAD and simulation tools.
  • Hold Degree in Electronics Engineering or similar technical qualifications or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in circuit design and PCB layout from concept to high volume mass production.
  • Experience in design and product validation, certification and compliance testing of electronics hardware at component level, including board bring up / verification
  • Have a good understanding of some of the following (but not limited to): Power supply topologies, interfacing to microcontrollers, power switching, motors, analogue design, digital circuits, EMC, stability analysis, vehicle network hardware, SOIC, high speed serial interfaces.
