WHAT TO EXPECT
You will need a comprehensive understanding of rig preparation of Units Under Test (UUT).
Key responsibilities include expertly rigging Engines, Powertrain rigs, EDUs, and E-machines, maintaining a thorough understanding of the test environment, including advanced testing techniques and equipment used within a prototype testing setting, and recognising the critical importance of data output from testing, ensuring consistent and accurate rigging practices.
Additionally, you will adhere to and promote safe working practices in accordance with the Company’s ‘Destination Zero’ policies, demonstrating a strong commitment to personal and workplace safety
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Hardware Knowledge and Maintenance: Understand product hardware, perform servicing and repairs of Units Under Test (UUT), and ensure accurate, repeatable instrumentation where required
• Rig Fitment and Safety Compliance: Safely and consistently fit rigs onto test cells, applying appropriate health and safety measures, and maintaining compliance with standards including ISO 45001
• Facility Management: Implement 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and housekeeping practices within the test facility to ensure a clean and efficient working environment
• Quality and Continuous Improvement: Aid in root cause analysis and countermeasure activities, facilitate continuous improvement and learning through training and communication of quality initiatives, and participate in the development and delivery of specific quality training
• Audit: Ensure compliance with internal and external audits
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
• Completed an indentured apprenticeship and hold an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering, with relevant technical experience
• Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent in English, Maths, and Science.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Possess excellent knowledge of motor vehicle technology, with up-to-date expertise in vehicle development, particularly new engine types and electronics
• Demonstrate strong practical skills, good manual dexterity, and the ability to
follow written and spoken instructions, interface effectively with customers, work efficiently, and maintain attention to detail
