WHAT TO EXPECT 
A workshop based craft role working on Prototype & Saleable vehicles with the objective of ensuring that all vehicles have the appropriate electrical functionality for their intended use. This will cover software & hardware including harness manufacture.

 

There will, after the appropriate level of training, be opportunities to support overseas test work and at other locations around the UK

 

The position requires working a rotating double day shift of 37 hours

 

You will be responsible for conducting modifications & repairs to vehicle electrical systems & harnesses, conducting electrical measurements& inspections of vehicle networks, systems & components. Fit test & remove prototype electrical / electronic components and provide comprehensive technical feedback, fault identification & problem diagnosis utilising diagnostic equipment where necessary (primary equipment is laptop/PC based with CAN network interfaces.

 

You will also install updated ECU & CCF software, calibrate electronic vehicle control systems, support general mechanical vehicle fitting services and undertake any other work as directed by their line Manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 
You will need to have level 3 City & Guilds, NVQ or IMI in Auto Electrical discipline, Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance or similar, a recognised apprenticeship, In depth knowledge in & experience of IT used in vehicle electrical fault diagnosis using the latest technology the ability to read & interpret electrical wiring diagrams, have experience in the manufacture of vehicle wiring harnesses and have recent experience of working on modern light motor vehicles both electrically & mechanically.
