WHAT TO EXPECT
The Accessories team deals with the delivery of all engineering responsibilities, technical & commercial, to ensure programme delivery on time, to cost & quality targets for all JLR accessories. The team is the outward-looking face of the engineering function and is the first single point of contact for all external stakeholders to deliver Modern Luxury accessories.
As the leader of the team you will be overseeing the design, development, and implementation of structural accessories (Winch system, towing system, deployable side steps) across all programmes on all vehicle lines and platforms. This role involves a mix of technical leadership, project management, and team development to support members in their delivery responsibilities. Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and clearing the path for the team to deliver.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Lead the Engineering delivery on all of structural accessories (Winch system, towing system, deployable side steps) across all programmes on all vehicle lines and platforms
• Lead / Drive/ Engineering team on delivery, timing, cost, and quality
• Support core vehicle ceremonies as required to ensure Accessories interests are covered and issues resolved
• Liaise with core design partners to ensure platform architecture and systems are specified, agreed and capable of delivering accessories
• Drive Accessories Engineering process improvements, and platform strategy in off cycle
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in the design and development of mechanical systems, ideally hitching and towing components
• Leadership experience in an engineering or technical management role and excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience of stakeholder management at all levels of the business
• Ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments
• Significant experience of leading operational multi-skilled teams with the ability to set operational and strategic direction
