WHAT TO EXPECT 


The Accessories team is accountable for the delivery of all engineering responsibilities, technical & commercial, in support of programme delivery on time, to cost & quality targets for all JLR accessories. The team is the outward-looking face of the engineering function and is the first single point of contact for all external stakeholders to deliver Modern Luxury accessories.

 

You will be responsible for managing the Accessories Advanced engineering team and in charge of defining the technical roadmap and key off-cycle activities for JLR Accessories. Working with the Attributes, System and commodity teams, the engineering manager will create plan, lead study and define introduction scenarios of new technologies to support all defined targets, enhanced attributes and customer experiences for the next JLR Accessories. 


You will lead and define workstreams to move technology from concept ready to application ready with the supplier base and be responsible for development contract and technical partnership for the chosen technology for co-development plan and demonstration when needed
 
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
 
•    Manage a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate Technology, concepts and features
•    Coordinate and influence a cross-functional team to bring concept to application readiness on vehicle & accessories programme to ensure robust delivery on time, quality and cost to a valid business case 
•    Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external suppliers and senior stakeholders. Manage conflict and negotiate between parties, where required, to maintain engagement whilst delivering against plan
•    Develop, agree test plan, confirm compatible commodity plan for hardware and software availability for all stages and ensure cross-functional requirements are integrated for delivery on programme.
•    Liaise with core CoC’s to ensure platform architecture and systems are specified, agreed and capable of delivering accessories.

 
 WHAT YOU’LL NEED 
 
•    Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field
•    Experience of the automotive or manufacturing industry (OEM or Suppliers) 
•    Experience in applying system engineering development through to end product. Ability to author and review requirements either through a model or through requirements defined in a structured format. Understanding of vehicle safety regulations, and industry best practices
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience of stakeholder management at all levels of the business
•    Ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments
