WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Are you skilled in maintaining precision equipment and passionate about ensuring top-tier quality in manufacturing? Join the team at JLR’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) in Wolverhampton, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing mechanical gauges, CMMs, and other measurement/test equipment that drive our cutting-edge machining and assembly processes.

In this position, you’ll be responsible for providing a comprehensive mechanical gauge maintenance service, ensuring our equipment runs efficiently and remains compliant with industry standards like TS16949. Your duties will include maintaining and repairing gauges, manufacturing spares when needed, and supporting calibration and CMM audit functions to keep operations running smoothly. You’ll collaborate closely with plant quality and process engineers to help resolve customer complaints and implement improvements, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of excellence.

 

You’ll also take ownership of scheduled preventative maintenance routines, handle corrective repairs, and contribute to metrology and calibration workflows. Communication is key in this role, as you’ll prepare accurate handover data for day and night shift operations and work closely with supervision and engineering teams.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

  • Indentured apprenticeship or level 3 NVQ or equivalent
  • Problem Solving Techniques - Root cause analysis. Good Fault-Finding Skills
  • Ability to make decisions quickly, sometimes in demanding situations.
  • Machining / Toolroom OR Metrology Experience
