What to expect


This opportunity is to join our Powertrain team where you will have a broad responsibility to develop and deliver vehicle features and starting control functions, including shaping the strategy for the development of control functions within the department. We are currently looking for a System Design Engineer to join us within our exciting and expanding Powertrain department


The Opportunity

This role will provide help to develop and deliver control system design for vehicle features, this role will provide technical delivery of core functions and embed best practice in everything we do by developing methods, processes and tools. Timely delivery of efficient and adequate control system design to achieve the required attribute vehicle targets. High quality documentation and demonstratable adherence to local and industry standard processes (e.g. ASPICE).


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Support the development of vehicle feature control functions including future vision, architecture development, test methods and documentation. 
  • Support the testing of the SW components to deliver high quality models to the SW team.
  • Contribute to the development of tools and methodologies to support the development of supervisory control systems.
  • Lead resolution of issues within vehicle feature control functions to ensure robust launch of products and respond to the feedback from the calibration team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Knowledge of Powertrain controls and software
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred



  • Requirements management and system modelling.
  • Experience of INCA/MDA, Vehicle networks, Logging and debugging on vehicles and rigs
  • Delivery of Engineering and or analytical projects preferably within the automotive industry
  • Experience of solving complex technical issues using a structured approach with the ability to identify areas for improvement.
