We are searching for a Power Electronics Technical Group Leader to support our Electrification Powertrain department and the future vision of Jaguar Land Rover. This role is responsible for managing the Inverter Core Team that will provide SME and cross-project support to all inverter delivery projects. The individual will be accountable for the execution of all core activities across all cross-carline inverters on transmissions, EDUs and stand-alone. They will manage a multi-disciplinary team who will work with the project aligned engineering groups to deliver the engineering, sourcing and release of components for vehicle programs.

 

You would be accountable for the leadership (up to 18 engineers) of the core inverter team covering, functional design, software development and quality, GRADE, functional safety HW SMEs and mechanical SMEs. You will be responsible for the delivery of pre-sourcing Power Electronics activities on all future programmes and complete end-to-end technical engineering ownership for issue resolutions. As the Power Electronics Technical Group Leader, you will manage current and Forward Model Quality across Inverters and DCDC converters and develop the engineering team reporting into this position including resource planning, budget and communications.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

In this role, you'll need extensive experience in High Voltage Power Electronics, together with proven capabilities in design, validation and delivery. You'll need a strong knowledge of both HW and SW aspects of inverter design and development, managing Tier 1 suppliers to deliver to the highest quality. You'll need Project management capabilities with excellent execution skills and the ability to multitask as well as being comfortable challenging with strong influencing and engagement skills - able to challenge existing thinking positively whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.

 

You will need comprehensive knowledge of vehicle HV and LV power architectures and failure mode avoidance experience with demonstrable knowledge of associated processes such as DFMEA, FTA, FFA and DRBFM.

 

You will also possess:

• Experience developing electronics and software for power electronics with working voltages up to 1000V and power ratings in excess of 150kW.

• Knowledge of Automotive Safety development in accordance with ISO26262
