WHAT TO EXPECT
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Owner to lead the Requirements Management squad, someone that has experience leading an Agile team, to address the challenge of “how we transition to an Agile way of working, leveraging Model Based Engineering, from a traditional Document Based Systems Engineering approach; whilst maintaining both approaches during the transition”.
Jaguar Land Rover is looking for someone that has experience in Requirements Management and an Engineering discipline, that’s willing to keep an open mind and challenge their current beliefs and/or assumptions, to lead the transformation and operation of a new way-of-working, that combines the pace of Agile with the benefits of Model Based Systems Engineering.
You will lead the operations of Jaguar Land Rover’s Systems Engineering for our Engineering Delivery Platform and you will be expected to represent the Group in wider business discussions.

Product leadership for a key area within the Systems Engineering Platform Group

Working to direct a team, to transition to and operate a unified Requirements Management solution.

Leading the transformation and operations for the Marvel roadmap, communicating across the business

Ensuring work planning aligns with business priorities and managing delivery of these through optimised backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint showcases and contribution in retros.

Working across teams to ensure dependencies and interfaces with other systems are captured and managed.

Engaging with both Digital, Engineering and Company Quality teams to manage risk and prioritise activity.

Working closely within the Systems Engineering Platform Group, Groups within Engineering Delivery Platform (especially the Test Platform Group), Squads in Digital, Company Quality, Electrical Hardware, Functional Safety and Cybersecurity and CAD/CAX Squads participating in global process standardisation and business-wide improvements.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Essential:
-
Degree level qualified ideally in relevant discipline e.g. Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience

Experience with operating software-centric model based and document-based systems engineering in compliance with automotive, aerospace or similar industry standards (e.g. ISO15288, DO-178, etc.)

A strong appreciation of Requirements Management capabilities at JLR and their importance overall
-
Significant experience of leading teams of engineers to deliver complex packages of work.

An ability to prioritise the customer / end user and ensure their needs are met.

Expertise in Product and Application Lifecycle Management systems

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to confer complex technical and procedural topics in a clear and concise form, confidently presenting to stakeholders.

Practical experience in change transformation, operations and systems governance

Experience working with and delivering through agency.

Excellent collaborative skills
Desirable:

Prior knowledge/experience managing Quality Management Systems

Prior knowledge/experience of ISO15288, ISO12207, ISO29119, ISO26262 and/or ISO21434

Experience delivering of software using agile engineering methods and processes.

Knowledge of embedded systems skills

Agile project management skills

Knowledge of Systems standards and processes
