WHAT TO EXPECT

 

As a Software Development Engineer for our PHEV On-board Charger Software Squad you'll get to focus on embedding software developed by supplier partners as well as in-house developed application components for future PHEV vehicle programs.

 

You'll be part of various end-to-end system engineering activities, from customer requirements analysis to test case integration for power electronics software. This opportunity involves a high levels of integration, functional safety requirements, and environmental considerations.  It also involves designing and delivering embedded software for the new generation of charging systems plus contributing to a rapidly growing area critical to our electrification strategy.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

 

  • Lead and collaborate with a team of software engineers, both onsite and offsite, to ensure the software meets JLR standards and design intent.
  • Interact with Tier 1 suppliers to deliver PHEV On-board Charger Software that integrates into future vehicle programs with high levels of ASIL requirements, meeting agreed program milestones.
  • Execute and track charging system software DV and Pass-Off-Test testing, including regression testing for each software delivery.
  • Support issue investigations with software teams and suppliers using structured problem-solving techniques to secure robust issue prevention.
  • Aid the Software Product Owner and the SW Delivery Squad in delivering project-specific designs, change management, and robust power electronics software development and delivery.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • A background in software development and delivery, particularly within the power electronics area
  • Experience using Embedded C, MATLAB / Simulink, Vector CANalyzer, and CANoe
  • Knowledge of automotive software diagnostics
  • Experience working with customer requirements and requirement decomposition
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies
