This includes everything from autonomous vehicles and advanced control systems to class-leading infotainment, cloud-connected features and integration of consumer electronic technologies, not to mention the opportunity to drive advanced prototype vehicles.

 

In your position as a Software Configuration Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Develops and maintains SCM procedures and work instructions.
  • Governing body for reviewing and approving change requests under the SCM Procedures and work instructions.
  • Mentors the organization on SCM services, concepts, policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for instituting the established processes and reporting progress statistics based on change requests.
  • Chairs the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and enacts changes as directed.
  • Identifies product baselines as necessary of all products within their assigned projects.

 

You will facilitate/conducts SCM audits within the Project or Program at scheduled milestone and to develop and maintain artefact’s following correct version control procedures using the SCM procedures and work instructions. You would also be responsible to ensure all SCM procedures and work instructions are implemented and followed for all software, documentation, and/or any other components. Furthermore, you will ensure all technical teams’ work within the specified SCM process and related guidelines as specified in the SCM procedures and work instructions.

 

This is not a hands-on coding position but rather ensuring all new and existing processes are successfully delivered within the business. You will be working with software developers and project coordinators, understanding the technical elements of various projects, whilst working with our SCRUM teams to define and deliver our world-leading projects. You will be responsible for introducing the established processes for change requests, build and release, BOM’s and identifying product baselines as necessary of all products within the assigned projects.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

 

Essential: 

  • 2+ years of configuration management experience, configuration item (CI) baselining, documentation and reporting, including incident, problem, change, configuration, and release management 

  • 3+ years proven experience with SDLC Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies 

  • Champion in different software configuration management tools used to store, track, and manage configuration items: GIT, JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint, DOORS, Artifactory 

  • Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project 

  • Understanding with change management software 

  • Familiarity with build and release management and associated tools 

  • Ability to interact and influence project team & stakeholders in the delivery process 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Committed team player 

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, or similar
