What To Expect
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Engineering Manager with a background in leadership and mentorship, who has a passion for employee development and stake holder satisfaction.
The main purpose of this role is to support the design and development of disruptive and innovative technologies. The team are the centre of gravity for testing excellence in JLR and this steam specifically develop bleeding edge solutions that have a direct impact on our vehicle range.
This platform is used in all facets of engineers, some of note are autonomous vehicles and advanced control systems, electric powertrains, to class-leading infotainment, cloud-connected features, and integration of consumer electronic technologies, not to mention the opportunity to drive & test advanced prototype vehicles.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Training and Development Programs: The successful candidate shall be responsible for developing and implementing training and development programs that align with business objectives and improve employee skills and performance.

Performance Management: The successful candidate shall be responsible for developing and implementing performance management systems to align employee goals with company goals and values provide effective feedback and coaching to improve performance.

Budget Management: The successful candidate shall be responsible for managing the department's budget effectively to allocate funds for training and development, recruitment, and other initiatives.

Stakeholder Satisfaction: The successful candidate shall be responsible for ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, including employees, academic institutions, and external partners, by meeting their needs and maintaining positive relationships.

What You Will Need

Technical Knowledge: Should have a strong understanding of web development and Python programming, as well as a deep knowledge of software development principles and methodologies.

Competencies

Software Development Process: Knowledge of the software development process, including agile and waterfall methodologies, and experience in managing software development projects.

Programming Languages: Experience with Python programming language and web development tools such as Django, Flask, React, Angular, and Vue.js.

Software Architecture: Knowledge of software architecture principles, including microservices, RESTful API design, and database design.

Quality Assurance: Experience in designing and implementing quality assurance processes, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.

Project Management Tools: Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, Asana, and GitLab, and experience in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.

Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead a team of developers, including coaching, mentoring, and providing feedback, while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Communication and Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and experience in managing stakeholder expectations, providing status updates, and presenting project progress to senior management.
