Manpower Planning Manager

Salary: from 2183 eur monthly, 0-15% yearly bonus, other benefits according JLR rules

 

OPPORTUNITY

The Manpower Planning Manager has the responsibility of leading a team in presenting the statistical data required to plan, monitor & by analysis, challenge the hourly labour requirements across the JLR Production facilities. The Plant Manpower Planning Managers are responsible for leading the Plant hourly manning target setting, forecasting and analysis to guide HR, Finance and the Plant in achieving cost and efficiency targets

 

RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Develop plant hourly headcount YoY budgets and subsequent adjusted targets in line with published volume sets, plant capacities, absence policies, opportunities for improvement and new model introductions
  2. Advise on optimal shift strategies to achieve volume demand at lowest labour cost
  3. Lead the plant team in the weekly resource review to hold plants ops to account in delivery of headcount targets (AOR & ROR)
  4. Collate & issue absence reports and analyse target v f/c v actual
  5. Key interface to technology leads, HRBP & Finance on all labour planning activity (including Plant Cost Reviews)
  6. Advise the Plant Ops Director on all labour planning activity (Support Ops Director in local technology business reviews where applicable)
  7. Advise the plant ops / HR / finance teams of imminent & future release / recruitment requirements
  8. Lead the plant labour movement within plant
  9. Guide the plant teams in identification of labour efficiency
  10. Provide & explain labour metrics on the plant scorecard
  11. Analysis of published strategies or alternative scenarios, raising awareness of any potential business impacts and providing recommendations supported by detailed analysis
  12. Work up labour profiles for future global footprint studies
  13. Work up labour profiles for Business Planning periods where suitable volumes exist, Benchmark internal labour activity across plants, identify opportunities, Work with technology forums to feed labour opportunities

 

CANDIDATE

 

Essential:

  • A solid knowledge of production operating parameters and the interactions with labour planning
  • The mechanics of building a labour plan from first principles, the nuances of fixed/variable, direct & indirect
  • An excellent grounding in lean principles and waste reduction
  • An ability to build a solid network & good rapport at all levels
  • The ability to work in a fast moving environment and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent high level analytical skills with the ability to focus on the key issues.
  • Highly motivated and resourceful with an ability to present clearly and concisely at all levels
