Fire Advisor

Grade C, local Nitra

Salary: from 1434 EUR monthly, 13th salary, 0-15% bonus



The Fire Advisor is part of a team of specialist Business Protection compliance professionals reporting to the Business Protection Manager. The purpose of the job is to provide advice and guidance on fire safety matters to the facilities department and wider business including Corporate Security Business Protection UK.



The position supports and promotes the development of a positive Fire safety culture within the business by supporting the development and implementation of fire safety systems and policies, providing relevant training, performing audits and inspections, undertaking risk assessments, reporting on fire and safety maters to relevant personnel and committees, providing emergency attendance when required and supporting the continual improvement of Fire safety arrangements and systems on site. To work with the third party fire department to gain the best outcome for JLR Nitra regarding fire compliance.



· To provide fire safety advice and guidance to the facilities department and wider business and relevant committees to support the development of fire safety arrangements and procedures that meet legislative requirements and follow best practice, writing and publishing fire related guidance documentation for the site.

· To develop, maintain, and review the implementation of the site fire safety policy, fire management arrangements and fire risk assessments, on behalf of the site as part of the process of ensuring legal compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

· To develop and support Fire Safety arrangements with the Business Protection.

· To investigate Fire related incidents within the site and prepare reports and recommendations to minimise the risk of personal injury, fire and damage to company assets. Support the reporting of incident data within JLR, Incident Report Database.

· To carry out fire safety audits and inspections to all parts of the site.

· To provide fire safety training courses for employees.

· In conjunction with the Emergency Plan liaise with external fire and safety organisations and be a point of contact for relevant fire safety enforcement agencies.

· To assist in the liaison with the facilities department, H&S department in the development of Fire safety services for the site to meet future needs and standards as part of a continual improvement process.

· To act as the principal advisor to Health and Safety Groups on matters relating to fire safety, and to provide such reports as are required.

· To maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of matters relevant to the post (including best sector practices and regulations) by means of literature searches, contacts with professional bodies, attending relevant meetings, courses, and conferences.

· To undertake other activities/responsibilities within their competence as directed by the Business Protection manager commensurate with the grade of the post.
