What you will be doing:

  • The Buyer is responsible for working closely with members of UK and US based teams to help define and execute the sourcing actions needed to deliver the infrastructure to support JLR North America’s vision for an Electrified future.

  • As part of the Global Jaguar Land Rover Indirect Procurement organization based in the JLR North American HQ in Mahwah NJ, we would look to you to bring your Procurement expertise and knowledge of the US and Canadian EV Infrastructure marketplace to deliver the defined objectives.  

  • The role will require strategy development, market testing, cost and contract negotiation, contract management, vendor relationship management and diplomacy skills.

  • Working closely with a multi-disciplinary globally based team, formulate and deliver a sourcing strategy for the key elements of JLRNA’s North American Electrification strategy and deliver against specific project cost and timing milestones.

  • Perform other duties as required

 

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience;

  • 5 plus years of experience in an Indirect or Services Procurement role.

  • 3 plus years of experience of the US and Canadian EV Infrastructure market.

  • Applicants need to demonstrate a sound understanding of the Procurement function and the challenges faced when working with both internal and external stakeholders based in North America and Globally.

  • This position requires a self-starter with the ability to operate autonomously with the initiative to recognize value add and cost reduction opportunities.

  • The ability to work to strict deadlines in order to achieve objectives.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organization and with external Suppliers/Customers

  • A high degree of influencing skills

  • The ability to analyze, negotiate and reach advantageous agreements with suppliers, stakeholders & colleagues.

  • Competent user of MS Office and Teams plus experience of SAP R3 and Ariba would be an advantage.

  • Confident, assertive, committed, enthusiastic and self-motivated.

  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and environment.

  • Ability to travel within the US & Canada and possibly globally.

  • A strong understanding of the US and Canadian EV Infrastructure market. The key players, the challenges faced and the likely Industry trends over the next 5 years.

  • Be the 'Go To' Procurement professional within the project team.

  • Develop and subsequently manage supplier relationships and be the focus for all aspects of the ongoing commercial relationship.

  • Understand the key cost drivers and be able to lead the team to deliver cost effective solutions into the business.

  • Work with key stakeholders to create a strong network of information exchange not only in the US and Canada but also with the JLR Procurement and Electrification teams within JLR UK.

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are essential, and must be comfortable presenting to all levels of management;

  • Must have strong business acumen, and the ability to work with people at varying levels with the organization and network;

 

Schedule:  Hybrid Ways of Working (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - office days; Wednesday and Friday - choice days)

 

Recruitment Salary Range:  $92,000 - $115,000

 

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized components, including location, skills, experience, and market factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus in addition to a full range of medical/health, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick/personal, and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position”.
