The successful candidate for the above role will retain their current employer, i.e. if you are a Jaguar employee you will continue to be administered on the Jaguar grading structure with the associated terms and conditions. If you are currently on BAC or EMC terms, you will retain your current employer but will transfer to a JLR contract and the associated terms and conditions.

The Opportunity
This role will develop new analytics products for JLR across all aspects of the business. Our Senior Data Analytics Consultants work towards technical leadership in their chosen technologies, provide technical and pastural guidance to junior members of the team, and add challenge into the strategic thinking of the projects we do.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities 


•    Define and translate business problems/requirements into analytics requirements/solutions – in line with Product Manager relationship with business and taking on board their thinking
•    Develop, implement and enhance analytic insights and products using a wide range of analytics tools and some data engineering
•    Conceptualise, develop and manage the delivery and optimisation of analytics solutions; ensure solution meets business needs
•    Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and communicate conclusions to the business
•    Act as lead for development segment of larger or complex projects. During projects, takes primary accountability for day-to-day line management and capability development of project team members and ensures accuracy and robustness of analytics products.
•    Resolve data questions using a storytelling approach to provide business clients with detailed, actionable solutions
•    Continually develop and maintain the standards for analytics development & consulting
•    Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested 
•    Undertake people management accountabilities for direct reports outside of their project, e.g. undertake annual performance review, gathering insight from relevant project teams, coordinate performance improvement plan where appropriate, etc.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Experience


Essential:
●    Advanced technical expertise in 2 of the following (or similar languages/software):
o    SQL (e.g. joins, CTEs, UDFs, stored procedures)
o    Tableau (e.g. Prep/Server/Online)
o    Python (e.g. Pandas, Luigi, unittest)
●    Outstanding ability to structure, analyse/ interpret data 
●    Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
●    Previous experience of delivering impactful, value-generating analysis /insight
●    Previous experience of challenging stakeholders to determine “need” from “want”
●    Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
●    Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred

 

Desirable:
●    Experience of applying structured problem solving techniques
●    Previous experience and knowledge of various cloud data management platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
●    Previous experience of architecting small to medium-sized data products and data pipelining
●    Previous experience of delivering projects within Agile or Scrum framework
●    Training and mentoring of immediate team members and colleagues in the wider business
