WHAT TO EXPECT

Are you passionate about automotive engineering and fascinated by the intricate world of brake NVH refinement? If you're seeking an exciting and rewarding role that combines project management and supplier collaboration, we have the perfect opportunity for you. Join our prestigious SVO team as a Brakes NVH Project Engineer and play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional brake NVH performance across all JLR SVO product lines.

By working closely with our trusted partners, you'll be the driving force behind achieving our brake NVH attribute targets.

As the lead engineer, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including target setting, defining physical and virtual test requirements, managing test vehicles, and conducting vehicle measurements and analysis. Collaborating closely with the wider brakes team, you'll tackle complex engineering challenges head-on and contribute to their resolution. Your meticulous attention to detail and exceptional planning skills will be instrumental in ensuring right-first-time delivery, harmonizing efforts with other cross-functional groups.

  • Ensure the delivery of Brake NVH attributes within quality, cost, and time parameters, while collaborating with the wider SVO brakes team

  • Coordinate test vehicle requests to support program deliverables and oversee the management of the brake NVH test vehicle fleet

  • Establish a close working relationship with the supplier, agreeing on RASIC, development processes, and the timely delivery of the brake NVH attribute

  • Maintain up-to-date brake NVH documentation, including meeting minutes, test and delivery plans aligned with program gateways, status outputs, and closure of engineering issues related to the brake NVH attribute

  • Ability to effectively manage suppliers and collaborate with JLR team members

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience at UK and European test locations for brake NVH development

  • Proven experience in managing outsourced suppliers

  • Familiarity with JLR processes, including WERS releasing, AIM, APQP, FMEA, RMDV

  • Sound understanding of the interaction between brake NVH countermeasures and other attributes (e.g., performance, SCS, etc.)
