The Opportunity


This role is within Vehicle Health Monitoring Product Squad. The role will focused on delivering the test platforms for software product testing team and creation of the automated test harnesses

The main activity is to prepare test properties for automated Test, Test Script Development, Test Management test post processing and Rig triage.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for creating the HIL system and vehicle simulation environments (hardware and software) and models in alignment with functional requirements, using model-based engineering.
  • Integration of network simulation models including use of development using tools such as Vector and Intrepid
  • Ensures the test platform is enabled for either manual or automated validation and connected to push specified data through identified data-pipelines.
  • Daily maintenance of the test platform inclusive of updates to hardware, software, models, framework, measurement, instrumentation and data extraction.
  • Daily triage to identify non product test platform defects, subsequent root cause analysis and fix
  • Executes automated testing (structured and non-structured)
  • Raise issues with supporting logs and evidence of non-compliance
  • Use of Automation Framework to develop Test Scripts
  • Provide technical expertise in the measurement of data
  • To collate, manipulate and interpret data which will be used to inform engineering decisions
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested





Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Technical expertise and experience of test facility and test part preparation
  • Experienced with data acquisition and control systems.
  • Data analysis and reporting of test data.
  • Natural problem-solver with structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment.
  • Experience in XRAY/JIRA Test Authoring Environment
  • Experience in the use of VECTOR and Intrepid virtual environments. A full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points, no disqualification, 2 years accident-free record
  • Proficient in the use and application of a programming / scripting language (C/C++, python, Java, Gherkin/Cucumber)



  • The ability to validate, prepare and read engineering documents.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process and Single Point Lesson (SPL) documents.
  • Educated to Degree level in a Systems, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or related field.
