REQ ID: 101543
JOB TITLE: Technical Project Engineer
SALARY: Competitive
POSTING END DATE: 31/12/2022
Beyond Property, Purchasing, HR and IT, more than being part of our Finance or Marketing teams, beyond even Sales and Service, every role in every business area offers unique opportunities to make an impact on the future of mobility and the automotive industry.

This position gives the applicant an opportunity to secure a place within the Jaguar Product Engineering team. Forming a key part of Jaguar Land Rover's Reimagine strategy, this small and nimble team is tasked with delivering the next generation of Jaguar all-electric vehicles.

Situated within the Jaguar Product Engineering organisation, our Chassis group is made up of a small and diverse team of passionate, driven and exceptional people. Each with their own unique set of strengths and skills but with one thing in common – a commitment to deliver the world’s best luxury vehicles to our customers.
This is not a role restricted to a fixed guidebook. Or limited to a narrow set of specific skills.
It gives the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of product delivery from initial concepts to the finished vehicle. Spanning the entire breadth of Chassis commodities including axles, suspension systems, wheels and brakes. And all areas of hardware design, software controls, mechatronic systems integration and dynamic vehicle attribute delivery

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

The Chassis Technical Project Engineer is responsible for pulling together all aspects of Chassis delivery from across the business. This will include, but is not restricted to, activities such as:

  • Working alongside and guiding Chassis component delivery teams and cross-functional groups through the technical delivery of systems and components. Supporting both technical and non-technical issue resolution to ensure the delivery of vehicle features and attributes.
  • Aligning designs and plans with non-engineering functions including Marketing, Purchasing, Finance, Aftersales and Service.
  • Working with external engineering teams and suppliers to deliver world-class designs and components.

What you will need

  • Experience in project management of complex projects within a technical industry
  • Fantastic communication skills – delivering clear and concise information to all levels and areas of the business.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership – building strong working networks and bringing individuals and teams together. Leading the way through complex challenges to overcome any obstacle.
  • Robust decision making – Using data and plans to form recommendations for the whole team to follow.
  • Bringing passion – Every day. To everything you do. Inspiring the people around you.

  • Knowledge of Chassis or automotive systems
  • Hold a formal qualification within a technical discipline

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.

This role may offer the opportunity for hybrid working where you can split your time between working from home and in the office. At Jaguar Land Rover, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees with more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work, if suitable for their role. Further details can be discussed with the Hiring Manager at interview stage.

Please be aware that we may close this vacancy for applications before the stated deadline if we receive a high volume of interest. We strongly advise you to submit your application as early as possible.
