In this role, you will identify, develop and deliver IT solutions to enable resolutions to specific business issues within the Corporate Services domain at JLR, either directly or more commonly via support and guidance of specific delivery teams.  With responsibility for all aspects of IT Solutions Delivery, this role will also ensure these solutions are aligned with the architectural strategy and standards and help develop the strategy by feeding back ‘real world’ experiences and factors.

 

The Corporate Services domain is responsible for IT support within Finance, HR, Special Vehicle Operations, People and Resource Management and a number of key JLR strategic programmes.

 

 

You’ll be: 

  • Accountable for the technical excellence of technology solutions delivered across the enterprise 
  • Support and guide solution delivery teams to develop solutions in line with architectural principles and policies
  • Informs and drives the direction of architectural deliverables and architectural development documentation
  • Oversee and support the assessment of solution excellence to core KPIs as well as independently rating and assessing solutions
  • On occasion, for key projects, lead the solution development directly bringing the benefit of enhanced skills and experience to the delivery team
  • Support the identification and management of the resources necessary for all stages (planning, estimation, execution) of individual systems development projects to ensure technical, financial and quality targets are met
  • Provide oversight and guidance on complex solution design activities and modification
  • Oversee the construction of Proofs of Concept and assess their viability, to support Minimal Viable Product (MVP) development as part of an agile customer-led development process
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on available and emerging technologies to determine the potential impacts and business value
  • Drive and develop functional and domain-level strategy based on detailed solution experience (working with EAs in context of, and influencing, enterprise strategy)
  • Support and/or lead architecture principle, policy and standards creation, review and development based on assessment of effectiveness, future requirements and strategy

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential:

  • An individual who is results-driven, demonstrates tenacity, drive and perseverance, with the ability to deliver in a complex, highly demanding environment
  • Able to assess technical excellence in the context of business value and understand when trade-offs should occur
  • An individual with the ability to combine a short-term, pragmatic focus with longer term planning
  • An individual who is resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs
  • An individual who is able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
  • A good communicator who can communicate complex ideas
  • An effective team player, actively leads, develops and supports team members

 

Desirable:

  • An individual who enables speed in decision making through establishing alignment, clarity, stakeholder engagement
  • Experience with SAP or holds relevant SAP certification
  • TOGAF Certified
