WHAT TO EXPECT

 

In this role, you will be expected to specify, develop and deliver a comprehensive and aligned strategy for the Software and Controls team within the SV Propulsion department.

 

This role will work on utilising best practices, methods, standards, processes, people and organisation, hardware and software tools in order to deliver software for SV Propulsion programmes.

 

 You will also be require to derive, develop and cascade Software requirements. In this role, you can expect to support the delivery of software and calibrations for SVO Propulsion projects and manage software delivery via the Core powertrain engineering team or Tier 1 suppliers. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

As a Software & Controls Engineer, you will ensure capable, robust and documented methods across all attributes and systems - aiding robust and optimised design. As well as this, you will have an impact on the development of tools and methodologies to support the calibration and validation processes of the propulsion control system within SVO.

 

You will also be accountable for the development of capable, efficient, standardised and automated simulation processes, work on ensuring Jaguar Land Rover SVO has capable, effective and sustainable software and hardware component tools to support the calibration and Propulsion Calibration & Control systems and test data acquisition, management and automated reporting.

 

As a successful candidate, you can expect to provide test automation capability for HiL and SiL environments and work on the creation and maintenance of project documentation.

 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

 

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Powertrain calibration and controls, ideally to a detailed level
  • Experience of modelling complex systems, ideally vehicle and/or Powertrain systems
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience of managing a tier 1 supplier to deliver software functionality.
  • MHEV/PHEV/BEV software / calibration and system level understanding

 

Desirable:

  • MHEV/PHEV/BEV software / calibration and system level experience
  • Matlab, Simulink and Simulink Projects, Excel.
  • Experience of AVL MoBEO, CAMEO, Cruise and GT Power, ETAS Intecrio, Flow and INCA, programming (Python C, C++), MS Visual Studio and scripting skills
  • Delivery of Engineering and or analytical projects preferably within the automotive industry
  • Experience of solving complex technical issues using a structured approach with the ability to identify areas for improvement
