Vehicle Engineering is an incredibly diverse and stimulating department, and it is responsible for delivering the key characteristics that define the entire vehicle. It covers vehicle attributes such as aerodynamics, off-road capability, connected car, safety, sustainability, durability and other customer-focused measurable that characterise each vehicle.


Vehicle Engineering Management lead the development and strategy of individual vehicle lines from the product starting point through all the development stages and press launch to full-vehicle production, ensuring all attributes are developed and delivered by utilising the appropriate technologies to a world-class standard. Vehicle Engineering enable vehicle development and sign-off through utilising leading facilities and systems.

An exciting opportunity has arisen, to join a recently formed and growing team, Test Planning and Test Fleet Management. We reside within Vehicle Engineering and are responsible for producing combined Virtual, Physical and Rig based vehicle test plans on all JLR vehicle programmes. This role is key to the new team, in executing the various vehicle test and development plans, at all build phases ensuring the DV completes at key gateways.
You’ll need a very good understanding of vehicle systems and architecture with product creation & delivery system experience. You’ll work collaboratively with cross functional departments employing best-in-class processes wherever possible, with good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with sound knowledge of project time line management.
You’ll be an individual who is results driven, demonstrates, tenacity, drive and perseverance, with the ability to deliver in a complex, highly demanding environment. Able to be a strong communicator with a proven track record of demonstrating logic and who is able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.
