WHAT TO EXPECT

As the Toxicologist, you will contribute to the review, development, implementation and monitoring of Jaguar Land Rover’s Occupational Hygiene and Toxicology management systems, process and policies  to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and associated regulations.

Part of you role will entail you carrying out occupational hygiene assessments as received through support request system and carry out chemical safety reviews, assist internal customers with achieving corporate objectives including key aim of Destination Zero and conduct audits and inspections as required with report write up and follow up action as per agreed requirements.

You’ll also:

•             Have a good understanding of the principles of toxicology and regulatory compliance

•             Understand global and European chemical regulations with emphasis on REACH and CLP

•             Understand hazard characterisation and chemical risk assessment

•             Understand hierarchy of control measures and the principles of good hygiene control as per COSHH regulations

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You’ll join us with previous experience in occupational hygiene and toxicology operating at a similar level in an organisation or consultancy, along with working knowledge of REACH, CLP and COSHH with experience using occupational hygiene processes e.g. COSHH Risk Assessments, Management of Hand Arm Vibration. 

You’ll naturally have a customer first mind-set who is easy to do business with and makes people feel special, driven to deliver experiences that are personalised, transparent and dependable and be able to work independently, is results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.    

You’ll also have:

•             Technical knowledge of current and upcoming occupational hygiene and toxicology legislation, HSE guidance, best practices and industry developments and trends

•             Proven written and oral communication skills and the ability to articulate information and influence others

•             Flexibility to travel to other sites when requested
