JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineer - Cyber Security Encrypted Messaging

SALARY: £40,000 - £50,000

LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

With the automotive sector becoming more and more focussed on connectivity, we are increasingly open to a variety of potentially devastating threats. Our Cyber Security team is growing fast as we collectively need to stay one step ahead by building robust software capable of withstanding any potential cyber attack.  

 

In your new role as a Cyber Security Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for leading the analysis and design activities for secure communications software to be present both on and off the car. Day to day; you’ll be responsible for defining test methods and tools for secure connection approaches.  You’ll engage with Technical Specialists to understand and accurately capture requirements for secure communication and encryption across our range of vehicles.

 

This role will provide you with great opportunities to work across projects, boundaries, borders and structures to enable lifelong learning so that you can be the best version of you. You’ll also be at the forefront of helping us create a safer and smarter connected future.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

To be successful in this role you’ll be a highly motivated and self-starting individual with effective leadership skills.  You’ll possess a thorough understanding of Software principles within the Cyber Security domain as well as the impact of software design, development and architecture on systems security. We are looking for someone who has knowledge of communications protocols such as Ethernet and CAN.

 

You’ll be someone who looks to perform well with high levels of responsibility and has demonstrable experience of independent objective setting, planning and proactively finding solutions to complex problems within demanding environments. In addition, you’ll have a track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.
