JOB TITLE: Mechatronics Design & Release Engineer

LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire

Dreaming for tomorrow is about more than ideas and ambitions. We’re already building the next generation of vehicles, using repurposed and brand-new technology and techniques. We’re doing more than dream, we’re creating the future of mobility and automotive for years to come.

Supporting the development of current and future mechatronic suspension control systems on rigs and vehicles is the challenge that awaits you here. You’ll be joining our Chassis Motion Systems Control group. They’re the team that’s primarily responsible for developing and delivering features such as Air Suspension, Damping, Active Roll Control and Active Suspension. And, their work covers all aspects of the design, from requirements through to full implementation, so get ready for lots of interesting and varied work.

Interpreting customer requirements. Characterising Mechatronic devices, including defining and constructing test fixtures. Developing and testing Simulink & Stateflow models for vehicle and test fixtures and installing and debugging prototype controllers, sensors and actuators. These are just a few examples of what you’ll be doing on a regular basis. You’ll also get to build and test specialised wiring harnesses and design test interfaces to support vehicle work and bench testing of chassis control systems. Oh, and did we mention that you’ll be relied upon to create rapid controller prototyping models for prototype function development? Well, we did now!

Self-motivated, with good communication skills and excellent attention to detail, you're respected for your flair for systematic problem solving and ability to work flexibly as part of a diverse team. Ideally, you’ll need a relevant degree or equivalent experience (possibly in a similar role in the automotive or motorsport sector). We’ll certainly expect you to have a good understanding of electrical/electronic and, of course, Mechatronic systems.

You’ll have a good understanding of systems engineering lifecycle and processes, including previous experience in requirements gathering. What’s more, you're familiar with and are adept at following and defining development processes.

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan, private medical cover and performance related bonus scheme. As a manager, you’ll also be able to select one of our luxury premium vehicles to lease at a fraction of the cost. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
