JLR are looking to recruit skilled and enthusiastic EDS engineers to support the growing and exciting EDS In House Engineering project, within the Electrical Engineering department of Product Engineering. We are looking for technically capable and inquisitive EDS Engineers to lead and further develop our In House Engineering capability and deliver our in house vehicle EDS projects. We are looking for skills across all areas and specialisms within Automotive EDS HV and LV systems.  


As a Lead within EDS Engineer, you will be required to work closely a large number of stakeholders and internal customers, to ensure the efficient and robust execution and integration of the EDS system. Key internal interactions will be with the Product Engineering CoC’s, Vehicle Engineering, Programme Teams, Advance Manufacturing Engineering, Finance, Purchasing, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Prototype Build and the final assembly teams.


With respect to external stakeholders, as a Lead within EDS Engineering you’ll be required to interact with a number of external suppliers of components and harness manufactures, to ensure the realisation of your EDS designs.





We are interested in speaking to candidates who have operated as leads within EDS and who have some of the following skills and experience –


  • Previous work within a multidiscipline Engineering team. Experience of technical problem resolution. A knowledge of System validation processes.
  • Experience with the following tools: CATIA, Team Centre, DT Database, ECR Database, Digital Buck, EDS-Designer.
  • Experience in the Capital tool set
  • Awareness of Connector systems and harness components would be an advantage.
  • Awareness of Fuse box design would be an advantage.
  • Experience on tooled component design, such as harness formers and components.
  • Understanding and experience in the development and deployment of EDS quality tools and standards.
  • A background in Automotive Engineering design, development and delivery.
  • Experience and knowledge of EDS durability and validation testing.
  • Experience and knowledge of EDS manufacturing and future EDS manufacturing technology.
