The High Voltage Charging System is key in Jaguar Landrover's electrification strategy. The High Voltage Charging team is responsible for the design and advanced development &/or selection of charging components for our electrification programmes. The High Voltage Charging System Subject Matter Expert will be a key role in development of Jaguar Landrover's future vehicles programs.  The successful candidate will lead the design of multiple software and electronics hardware-based functions and be responsible for integrating these functions into Jaguar Landrover's High Voltage (HV) charging systems.


The role will involve development of all the requirements for specific HV Charging functions, reviewing the associated Failure Mode Avoidance material, functional safety deliverables, cyber security deliverables and testing of each function to ensure suitability for production. It will be necessary to discuss suitable software environments with suppliers to ensure Jaguar Landrover's software can be integrated into supplier delivered code.


A detailed understanding of High Voltage Charging Systems and its operation is needed in order to help design, review and refine Jaguar Landrover's future High Voltage Charging Systems for their intended applications, ensuring their robustness and minimising cost.


Key Accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of new charging system features and functions.
  • Responsible for updating Jaguar Landrover standards in line with existing and upcoming international standards.




As a High Voltage Charging System Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for the management of HV Charging System related software requirements, linked to the various software functions of the system. You will also need to be responsible for the rectification of software and hardware issues related to specific High Voltage Charging system issues. You will be held accountable for the development of rigs to help with software testing, debugging and validation. Issuing Test Procedures will be a main job function, this is to ensure any new/updated high voltage charging feature or function can be adequately tested.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience



  • Significant experience of D&R, Quality processes including 8D, FMA process as well as requirements and standards writing
  • Must have significant knowledge & practical experience of High Voltage Electronic Charging systems
  • Project management, Leadership and planning skills are essential, along with good teamwork and communication skills.  Strategic thinking is also essential



  • Knowledge of ASPICE
  • Functional Safety Knowledge (ISO 26262)
  • Use of Hardware In the Loop (HIL) rigs
  • Knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD communication protocols
