JOB TITLE: BEV Battery Lead Engineer (SVO)
SALARY: Competitive
POSTING END DATE: 30/06/2021
LOCATION: Coventry
Dreaming for tomorrow is about more than ideas and ambitions. We’re already building the next generation of vehicles, using repurposed and brand-new technology and techniques. We’re doing more than dream, we’re creating the future of mobility and automotive for years to come.

It’s not every day you come across high-performance versions of existing models, luxury bespoke commissions, heritage models or individually tailored vehicles that set pulses racing. Unless you join us at Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Operations (SO).

Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) are a key part of the SO Organisation delivering World Class Products that amplify our core brand values in Ultimate Luxury, Ultimate Sports Performance and Ultimate Capability. SVO are a Performance-based organisation with a Formula 1 team mindset that requires the best engineers to strengthen its capabilities.

The SVO Propulsion team are searching for a BEV Battery Lead Engineer to help support the design, development, testing and introduction of SVO-specific Battery Systems to support the SVO Cycle Plan, delivering on time to cost and quality targets. The role will require close working with the Jaguar Land Rover Core Powertrain teams to ensure the continued development of the SVO Battery Systems team.

As the BEV Battery Lead Engineer, you will lead and develop (full lifecycle) Battery Systems within SVO Propulsion System across multiple projects including future PHEV and BEV battery systems across the full suite of SVO vehicles. You will interface with Core Engineering and deliver SVO Battery Systems to quality, cost and time, including maintaining the Worldwide Engineering Release System (WERS). You will manage supplier rig and Jaguar Land Rover vehicle test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off. Furthermore, you will manage Change Request, expenditure forecasting and the relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of the programme milestones.

In this position, you'll need extensive experience and knowledge of battery system development ideally within BEV and PHEV systems. You will need a comprehensive understanding of:

  • Battery electronic systems design, development and delivery
  • Battery control systems along with their development and delivery
  • Design principles and the application of quality tools within battery engineering

Furthermore, you will have the ability to communicate overall project battery design and release status at all levels and to demonstrate leadership in technical and organisational problem resolution.

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.

Please be aware that we may close this vacancy for applications before the stated deadline if we receive a high volume of interest. We strongly advise you to submit your application as early as possible.
