Jaguar Land Rover is increasing its capability and capacity of its Digital workforce to identify and automate activities across the Enterprise to free up colleagues to focus on more interesting and strategic elements of their role. This exciting role is part of our Intelligent Process Automation Centre of Excellence (COE) which has evolved from our Robotic Process Automation COE and combines traditional RPA technology with cognitive / Artificial Intelligence capabilities, upskilling our Digital workforce to read, interpret, analyse and support colleagues with enhanced decision-making. These new capabilities, combined with process improvement capabilities, such as lean six sigma will be applied to processes across JLR in order to unlock efficiency across end-to-end value streams by optimising delivery and improving process compliance. 


As part of our new Intelligent Process Automation CoE, this exciting role encapsulates process solution design and automation development to drive maximum benefits through use of RPA and other complimentary technologies, such as Smart Workflow tools, Optical Character Recognition (OC), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Python and SQL. 


The role holder works closely with internal customers and the IPA COE to design and develop process automations that deliver game changing benefits to the whole organisation. The RPA tool of choice at Jaguar Land Rover is Blue Prism, the role holder will be experienced in working either with Blue Prism or with similar RPA tools and will have experience, or a keen interest in learning, SQL, C# Python or other equivalent coding languages. 


The Automation Pod Lead will work closely with the business SME, the IPA Discovery Business Analysis team as well as other members of the Digital / Analytics team to ensure that business use cases are well understood, offering the relevant technical solution, development and testing. The Automation Pod Lead will coordinate the UK Automation development team to ensure projects are delivered on-time and to standard. 

The Automation Pod Lead will stay abreast of emerging and complimentary technologies and will make recommendations to maximise business benefit and to ensure the IPA COE at Jaguar Land Rover continues to embrace digital technologies.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:


IPA Discovery:
•    Support the definition of process design documentation maximising the benefits of process automation
•    Contribute to the generation of business cases based upon assessment of development approach and effort


IPA Delivery:
•    Create automation high level and low level design documentation 
•    Support business SME reviews to ensure process automation opportunities are well understood and clearly specified
•    Develop, test and implement new data processes and structures to support analytics applications.
•    Implement data wrangling and ETL solutions; identifying and resolving data quality and other related issues.
•    Deploy and code where applicable capabilities such as OCR, NLP, Smart Workflow, SQL, Python alongside RPA.
•    Operate in accordance with Blue Prism (or alternative)and other coding industry best practices


Post Go Live Support:
•    Help to triage issues with process automations in production providing swift resolution and maintaining business performance
•    Identify continuous improvement opportunities within process automations
•    Support planned maintenance and upgrade activity, including regression testing 




To be successful in the role you will need to be results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver projects in a complex and fast moving environment. You will be effective in a team environment, able to develop and support team members and lead cross-functional collaborations. 


Technical requirements include:

•    Project management experience (ideally within Blue Prism Operating Model)
•    Adaptable to changing circumstances and environment, dealing with conflicting priorities for self and others
•    Experience of working in in transformation projects using agile methodologies in a demanding corporate environment
•    Experience of developing RPA Solutions (Blue Prism would be preferable)
•    Experience of developing, or willingness to learn to code in Python, C# or other equivalent languages. 
•    Experience of developing, or willingness to learn OCR, NLP and Smart work flow tools. 
•    Willingness to investigate and experiment with new and emerging technology, ensuring that at all times the IPA COE is leading edge.
