JOB TITLE: Automated Driving Functional Safety Group Leader 
SALARY: £46,200 - £69,300

WHAT TO EXPECT

In your role as AAD Functional Safety Group Leader, you’ll act as a Subject Matter Expert for Functional Safety and be responsible for leading a team of 4-10 Functional Safety Engineers across a diverse range of projects within the Assisted and Automated Driving Engineering team.


As part of this role, you’ll work with suppliers and hardware/software developers to design ISO 26262 compliant systems. You will perform system hazard and risk analysis, and defining safety goals, along with technical, hardware and software saefty requirements.


You’ll work with safety and failure analysis, documenting analysis requirements and results. You will need to work in an open, transparent and collaborative manner, sharing good practice and seeking to continuously improve the quality of outputs.


You’ll also:

 

  • Define our corporate functional safety processes and standards and then embed them in all relevant company systems and processes
  • Provide coordination of all our functional safety activities across the whole company
  • Evolve our processes in line with developing industry standards, implementation technologies and design approaches
  • Provide consultancy and coaching for  managers and engineers
  • Compile corporate functional safety assets (e.g. standard hazard lists and safety concept)


WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have extensive Functional Safety experience, along with strong leadership and stakeholder communication skills. You will also have an understanding of silicon devices, processors, micro-controller safety analysis, and safety mechanisms.

 

You’ll also need: 

  • Experience of using the MS Office suite, Visio, DOORS, Rhapsody, PREEvision.
  • Process & standard writing
  • Experience of functional safety liaison with tier 1 suppliers.
  • Model-based systems engineering.
