WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The In-Vehicle Infotainment and Connected Car group is part of the Vehicle Engineering department; responsible for providing world-class information and entertainment systems to our customers.

 

Vehicle Engineering is the key technical department for the product creation process, leading the engineering, from concept phase to the customer. It’s an incredibly diverse department, responsible for delivering the key attributes for the entire vehicle,from Infotainment and Connected Car, to Aerodynamics,Safety and Sustainability.

 

As Hardware Engineer you’ll be involved at all stages of the vehicle and component development, from strategic definition with the relevant Technical Specialist to electro-mechanical design and integration in the vehicle. You’ll also take a leading role in warranty reduction activities and using your interpersonal skills will build strong relationships across the business to maximise potential for improvement and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

 

As a key member of the team, you’ll focus on concept development and integration of the latest infotainment solutions across our whole product range and working closely with our stakeholders you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining our position as a market leader for in-car infotainment.

 

Finally, you’ll carry out engineering releases, support cost reviews and lead weight reduction initiatives as well as improving Bills of Design, standards and requirements for current and future infotainment components, to make sure we continue to be at the forefront of our industry.

 

You‘ll be responsible for utilising and improving Failure Mode Avoidance and Evaluation tools to ensure risk is managed appropriately and also monitor, analyse and resolve warranty/quality issues.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You’ll join us with a relevant degree, and proven technical knowledge related to automotive electronics component or system design in consumer electronics or a manufacturing environment.
 
You need to be experienced in developing technical requirements, specifications and associated test plans; as well as co-ordinating, delivering and reporting of product development projects.
