JOB TITLE: Vehicle Based Validation Engineer

This role is within the Assisted & Automated Driving (AAD) vehicle validation team, part of Electrical Engineering. The role will focus on creating Test Cases and execution of vehicle level test activities to support AAD feature development and/or AAD feature Engineering Sign-Off activities. The main activity is creating Vehicle Level Test Cases based on Test Design Documents, install basic logging equipment, execute vehicle level test activities, collate data and produce test reports for a wide range of ADAS or AD features.


As a Vehicle Based Validation Engineer you will: 

  • Create Vehicle Level Test Cases based on Test Design Documents
  • Execute vehicle level test activities according to the Test Method/Process document
  • Provide technical expertise in the measurement of data or performance
  • To collate, manipulate and interpret data which will be used to inform engineering decisions
  • Report test results and update test metrics
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested 





  • Technical expertise and experience of test facility and test property preparation
  • Significant experience of validating safety critical systems at vehicle level, ideally ADAS or AD related.
  • Significant experience with data acquisition tools (CANape, VehicleSpy, INCA, Simulink, ADTF, etc.)
  • Data analysis and reporting of test data.
  • Natural problem-solver with structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment.
  • The ability to validate, prepare and read engineering documents.
  • Significant knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, Risk Assessment, COSHH and SDS
  • Experience in Microsoft Office tools to produce plans, presentations, graphs, and process and Single Point Lesson (SPL) documents 
  • Driving license (valid in the EU) no penalty points, no disqualification, accident-free record


It will be considered as a plus, if you have: 

  • Experience and certification for conducting testing on proving grounds 
  • Knowledge of instrument calibration processes 
  • Six Sigma, Black Belt and Green Belt Training and certification 
  • Experience with TS16949 or ISO9001 standards and requirements 
  • Knowledge in any programming / scripting language (C/C++, python, Java, or similar)
