The Jaguar Land Rover Battery Assembly Centre is one of the company's cornerstone projects in delivering its electrification strategy. As a BAC team member, you will be playing a fundamental part in this historic change, as we will supply for the first time, both electric and hybrid electric battery packs to our vehicle plants.

As the Senior Process Leader – Quality Operations you’ll ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained through product conformance to specified quality and engineering standards and processes. The responsibilities of the Quality Operations Senior Process Leader will primarily be managing & leading the team in process control, improvements and problem solving to ensure sustained improvements to business performance; maintaining the battery test processes, facilities and systems in line with specified Engineering and Conformity of Production requirements.


You'llbe reporting directly into the Plant Quality Manager and will lead the Plant Quality Operations team to ensure that battery testing, product validation and product quality Investigation activities are undertaken with robustness and integrity for current manufacturing and future launch programmes.


The successful candidate will be expected to develop within the role as the Plant Quality Operations processes grow and mature. This is a key position within the Plant Quality Dept. Key responsibilities to include:


•    Provide day to day supervision and support to the operational team in the area and to ensure scorecard metrics such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment are achieved
•    Comply to Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards and risks and ensuring corrective action implemented and ensures the team receive appropriate training   
•    Support the achievement of Safety standards by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, risks identified and mitigated and corrective action implemented for any accidents 
•    Support the management and maintenance of site specific working practices such as Work Element Sheet (WES), 5S, Automated Issues Management System (AIMS)
•    Work on internal and external quality metrics and contribute to the development of action plans for the continuing achievement and maintenance of quality standards
•    Contribute to the achievement of the Integrated Production System, Manufacturing Operating Standard and Quality Operating System processes 
•    Update, maintain and communicate team objectives through the use of team boards
•    Ensure unauthorised attendance targets are achieved through disciplined approach to absence management
•    Supports associate and team development with responsibility of completing training logs for team / group workshops
•    Define workplace organisation requirement and ensure adherence with the 5S standard
•    Use continuous improvement tools effectively with the operational team to drive out waste 
•    Maintain department records for audit purposes and to be the main point of contact for all relevant auditing process  (Ensure internal and external audit compliance to standards including IATF16949 and ISO 14001)
•    Drive improvements in manufacturing (and supply chain where appropriate) through feedback on Battery testing analysis. 
•    Maintain a centre of excellence for testing and reporting.
•    Work in partnership with all facets of the organisation to achieve or supersede KPI targets
•    Investigate product quality issues with cross functional teams




You’ll have high voltage electrical power and battery knowledge coupled with direct experience in a high voltage battery, Power generation (Utilities), Marine electrical power control or similar background. 


Applications are welcomed from individuals who have previous experience of supervising teams to meet deadlines and quality targets. With an ability to demonstrate use of proven investigative techniques to solve problems and naturally strive for continuous improvement.


Occasional requirement for UK and international travel to other Jaguar Land Rover sites, and gauging and equipment suppliers for short durations as demanded by the role.
