WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The Automotive industry has entered into a new and exciting era of electrification.  Jaguar Land Rover is at the forefront of that change with the Jaguar I-PACE, recently voted European Car of the Year and has a range of Plug in Hybrid vehicles in production. 

 

The company is now investing further it is electrified industrial footprint to develop the technologies and infrastructure that will delivering on Jaguar Land Rover's commitment to offer customers a full range of electrified Jaguar and Land Rover models from 2020.

 

The Jaguar Land Rover Battery Assembly Centre is one of the company's cornerstone projects in delivering its electrification strategy. As a BAC team member, you will be playing a fundamental part in this historic change, as we will supply for the first time, both electric and hybrid electric battery packs to our vehicle plants. 
 
This is an exciting time to be part of Jaguar Land Rover as it transforms to deliver the most significant shift in vehicle manufacturing for a generation.

 

As the Gauge Maintenance and Calibration Technician you’ll ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained through product conformance to agreed quality standards and processes. Taking responsibility for providing measurement and calibration solutions as part of the Quality Management System of the Battery Assembly Plant, ensuring compliance to IATF16949 systems.

 

You’ll oversee the coordination of calibration activities, ensuring the calibration system is accurately maintained, coordination of repairs to measurement instruments, ensuring risk to customers is minimised through the deployment of effective reaction plans.

 

Key responsibilities to include:

 

•    Use the Calibration Management System effectively to organise / optimise Calibration Schedules
•    Establish and maintain calibration expectations and guidelines
•    Assisting plant quality and process engineers in the containment and resolution of customer queries through gauging improvements, updates and installations
•    Collaboration with third party Calibration organisation to assist with onsite OEM Calibration
•    Ensure Calibration Integrity for TIAP / TARC audits
•    Coordinate collection and delivery of line-side gauges

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You’ll have completed a time-served or modern advanced apprenticeship within a relevant discipline, preferably towards electrical or mechanical subject areas.

 

You’ll have demonstrable problem solving skills including root cause analysis, coupled with the ability to read an interpret electrical / mechanical Schematic drawings.

 

Comfortable working in a fast paced environment to tight deadlines, where you’ll be required to make quick effective decisions in demanding situations.
