Here, you’ll be in great company, growing your network, building the relationships and gaining the skills and experience that give you the solid foundation essential to powering progress in an exciting and creative world of opportunity. It’s rewarding in more ways than one.

Pathways

Studio Modelling

Enter a truly fascinating and exciting stage of automotive design and development and play a major role in taking appealing and inspirational ideas from initial concept into production. Whether it’s in our virtual or physical world, you will translate concepts and data into physical models, digital models or computer generated animations. All with the aim of solving the problems that will shape the final scintillating design.

Entry requirements

Currently studying a degree in Transport & Automotive Design, 3D Digital Design and on track for a 2:2 or higher

Technical

Laser sharp focus on technical details is what shapes the sweeping curves and luxurious styles of our vehicles. Wherever you join us in our Technical Design team, you’ll be shaping the eye-catching finishes that set us apart everywhere we are – on the road and around the world. And you’ll do that from day one, gaining invaluable experience and picking up technical expertise along the way. This is where the future of movement is taking shape and this is an exciting time to join us.

Surfacing Interiors brings to life design intent where it can be seen and touched inside the vehicle. Here, you’ll join a team in creating feasible A-Class geometry, generate concept schemes using state-of-the-art CAD systems or even run your own mini-projects. Along the way, you’ll pick up the skills essential to crafting best in class, optical quality solutions.

Surfacing Exteriors brings to life design intent where it can be seen and touched on the exterior. Here, you’ll grow your knowledge and network as you learn how to generate concept schemes and deliver best-in-class, crafted optical quality solutions in new vehicle programmes.

Design Model Operations (DMO) Joining our incredible teams of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians, and working with experts in Design Model Operations and Design Studio Modelling, you’ll be supported to produce physical, best-in-class design assets through model engineering, manufacturing, build and finish. You’ll also actively support our customers with technical advice, carrying out planning, problem solving and sourcing. Ours is a dynamic, collaborative environment where there is lots to learn.

“I’m so much better at preparing and planning projects in University thanks to the skills I’ve picked up here.”

I love being given the opportunity to develop in a globally recognised business. This has been so helpful when I’ve gone back to University. I’m so much better at preparing and planning projects thanks to the skills I’ve picked up here. I love being given the freedom to come up with ideas for the future and present them to management and even higher. When I applied here, I was amazed that I didn’t have to be a car fanatic to succeed here. Jaguar Land Rover want people with ideas, who are fascinated by overcoming technical and engineering challenges to benefit people and the planet.

“I always wanted to work with cars because I wanted to have an impact on how cars interact with society and how we can change the impact we have on the environment.”

The freedom you get here is great. I’ve been encouraged to go and meet new people, explore possibilities and try new things. What I’ve seen here has really opened my eyes. The investment in R&D is incredible. And the level of detail we go into blows my mind. One of my favourite events is the weekly Electrical Graduate Breakfast Forum. This is where apprentices, graduates and undergraduates all get together to talk about the challenges we are working on and share hints and tips. It’s a brilliant networking opportunity and a great way to build your knowledge and career.
