WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Stamping Operations is responsible for manufacturing pressed parts for most of JLR vehicle lines. This includes managing the design, manufacture and successful launch of tooling into JLR’s nominated press facilities.

 

This role is for a highly skilled maintenance technician to complete a variety of maintenance functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the highest quality work product, whilst ensuring they follow processes, standards and work safely. 

 

The team are responsible for maintaining all press shop facilities; Servo, hydraulic and mechanical presses from 800t to 2800ton including transfers systems using ABB and Kawasaki robots, overhead travelling cranes from 2.5t to 80t, over 3km of automated scrap conveyors, a variety of toolroom machinery including 2x large 5-axis milling machines.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Provide support to and wider Press Shop teams to ensure zero losses to production and maintainability to scorecard metrics such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment.
  • Compliance to Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards and risks and ensuring corrective action implemented.
  • Develop, document and assure standardised work and stable production processes according to standard operating procedures.
  • Promote a ‘continuous improvement’ mind-set through raising ideas that will assure quality standards are achieved.
  • Regular stock checks of essential equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and delivery.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Suitable Candidates will have experience of facility maintenance in a manufacturing environment and/or a background developed from time spent in an engineering role. It is essential that candidates can evidence the following:

 

  • Problem solving skills, specialising in root cause analysis.
  • Understanding of world class maintenance techniques.
  • Strong leadership behaviours based on the Creators Code.
  • Time served maintenance technician
  • Mechanical and / or electrical maintenance activities
